Does a parent need to already have Hospital Indemnity Select coverage for a newborn to be covered under the plan?

A parent must either already have an active HIS policy or apply for HIS coverage in order to add a newborn to the plan.

Please note that HI Select does not offer child-only coverage, so a child cannot be enrolled on a policy without a parent also being covered.
