What does pending agent appointment mean?

Pending agent appointment is a rather common status shown on the Agent Resource Center when checking a policy status. Generally, this is shown when an agent is new, and have recently submitted their first piece of business. ManhattanLife practices just in time contracting, which essentially means that we do not run background checks until a piece of business is submitted. If you see this status, just know that we are running a background check, and this status should change within 7-10 business days, or less.
